Why is vocabulary important in English? Here are 4 reasons why it is important to study, know and learn as many words as you can.

1- Communicating better 😀.

It is ❗ important ❗ to have a large ⬆️ vocabulary because it allows you to tell people what you mean, and express 🗣️ your thoughts 🤔.

Example: If you go to a doctor 🩺👩‍⚕️ and you have to tell him where it hurts 😭, you can speak about different body parts 💪👂🏼 👁️ 🦵👃 and he will be able to understand.

2- Successful in School and University 😀.

It is ❗ important ❗ to study 👨‍🏫 and know as many words as you can because it builds language development. Children 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 who have a larger ⬆️ vocabulary are better thinkers 💭, and this also boosts confidence. Example: If you know a large number of words, you have a higher ⬆️ chance of being successful ➕😊 in academics 🧑‍🏫.

3- Finding work😀.

If you have a higher ⬆️ vocabulary 🧠 and know more words, this will lead to job-related success ➕😊. The higher your vocabulary the better your communication 📳 skills will be.

Example: If you want to apply for a job and you can speak 🎤 to the manager or boss 🧑🏼‍💼 using a wide range of language to express 🗣️ yourself, this could lead to a more successful ➕😊 interview and job.

4- Improves writing and reading 😀.

If you have a good vocabulary, it will help you write more successfully ➕😊. The more words you study and know the better your writing ✍️ skills will be. Studies have also shown that all children 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 need to understand a minimum of 98% of words, to understand what they are reading 📚.

Example: Studying words and improving ➕😊 ⬆️ your vocabulary will also help you to understand novels and schoolbooks 🏫📓 which you have to read for tests 💯✒️.
