How to teach young-agedđšâđŒ learners to love đ learning:
Sometimes it is difficult to get our young ones đ§âđŒ to pay attention đđ, even more so when it comes to learning. But the answer is simpleâŠ
Keep reading and see if you can figure it out before the end!đ€©đ„ł
Letâs try the threeđ đ„Ÿđ„ż steps to get our children, excitedđ€©, involved, and motivated.
Step 1: đ
Rewards charts:
This is a clever đđ§ way to motivate children đšâđ©âđ§âđŠto participate in learning. They will realise that if they learn, and do well they will get rewarded đ. Some parents reward with something simple, like free time. They can have an hour to do something fun đ€Ÿââïžđ€žââïž, or watch TV đș. Some parents reward with sweets đđŹ, while other parents reward with small toys đ„đȘ.
Example: Each time a child studies well or learns something new, parents can give the child a star đ on the reward chart. After 10 stars (can be more or less) the child is rewarded.
Step 2: đ đ
Games, games, and more games! đčïžđđđ
Who doesnât like games? đ„° Young children struggle to learn if they are not entertained đ€č. They want to laugh đ, play and have fun. So why not learn âđ«đ©âđ« with games?
Flashcards đ are a popular game that can be used to amuse young children, as well as nursery rhymes đ€đŒ.
Example: When teaching them about different vegetables đ„đ„Šđ đ„Ź, you can hide the vegetables behind your back and ask them to choose a hand. When they choose the hand âyou remove the vegetable and say âThis is a carrot đ„". "It is an orange carrot đ đ„â.
Step3: đ đ đ
Interacting with family and friends.
People đ§đźđšâđłđ”ïžââïžđââïžđšâđ»đ§đšâđ are, by nature, not solitary beings. Young children đšâđ©âđ§âđŠ who are isolated âčïž struggle to interact with adults and learn âđ«đ©âđ«. But making them a part of conversations đ đ will help boost their confidence đ. When you are setting the table đœ, ask them to help you carry and while you are putting down the plates and bowls, you can speak about what they are doing.đ
Example: While you are getting readyâ° for bed đ, you can describe your actions to your child. First, I get undressed. Then, I take a bath đ. Lastly, I go to bed đđ. You can also sing đ€đŒ and add a song to your words to keep them excited and engaged.
